Best Father Day Speech
Give your dad the Best Father Day Speech ever
A simple rule in creating your best father day speech is to keep it short. In fact, by keeping it short and sweet you are more likely to keep the attention of your father and anyone else who is listening.
However just because it is short, doesn't make it necessarily a good speech.
Here are some suggestions of how to give your dad a great presentation.
Firstly ensure you are being sincere,
How do you do that? Just say (nice) things you mean and believe. However be careful not to make it sound too cheesy. You may want to include some father days quotes, but don't overdo it. The best father day speeches contain your words not someone else's.
Where are you giving your talk? Will there be other dads listening. If so it will also be a special day for them as well. A nice gesture is to acknowledge them, and remember what ever you say, they may be thinking about their relationship with their children.
Be more specific than general for example instead of just saying 'you are very special' state some reasons why.
Here are some ideas to help you brainstorm.
- He always made it home in time for dinner
- Kiss me every day before he went to work
- Never forgot my birthday
- Knew how to make me smile when I was feeling sad
- Made the best sand castles
- Helped me with my homework
- Agreed with me that Brussels sprouts are better as missiles than food
And so on
As well as liking the physically things he did, think about some of his values that you admire:
- Firm but fair.
- Stuck up for the underdog
- Never gave up.
Have you got similar values, can you thank him for those?
Maybe you have children of your own and you are trying to bring them up with the same values as his. If so let your papa know this. After all imitation is the highest form of flattery.
Even if you don't have any offspring yet you can tell him how you still plan to use some of his advice and methods.
Do you have a special bond with each other? Before you mention it, just be sure you won't upset any siblings, particularly if they will get to hear your speech.
If you don't have a great relationship with your father you might have to work a bit harder to create something sincere. But don't give up you can do it.
It is probably easier if you have children of your own as you can say something like- you realise what a hard job being a father is, the responsibility, having to pretend you know it all when really you don't and learning on the job.
Consider including a touching story, one that hasn't been retold lots of time or a photo of the two of you.
A nice way to end your best father day speech is to finish with a toast.
