Mom

I hope you've enjoyed your dinner. I was going to cook you lamb cutlets and mash, as I'm sure that used to be your favorite dinner as you cooked it a lot for us when we were kids. But as much as I love you, I really don't love lamb cutlets any more, so I hope you enjoyed this lasagna, it was certainly made with love.

Preparing food made with love is nothing new for you though. Whether it was lamb cutlets or beans on toast you always made our meals with love. I remember you often slaving away in the kitchen cooking a nice meal, only for me to refuse to eat it. You certainly had a lot of patience to survive meal times, but I'm so glad you didn't give up and feed me junk food.

In fact growing up I never doubted your love. You were always there on time to pick me up from school, attending all the parents' nights and most importantly for me, was that you sat and helped me with my homework.

I never felt like a chore to you, although I'm sure there are times when you would have wished you could be sat watching television rather than helping me with algebra.

It's only now, as a parent myself, that I have begun to realize all the sacrifices you've made for me. Thank you mum for everything, I really do appreciate it even though I may not show it.

I'm so glad that you have the strength to never give up on me.

No gift will ever reflect the immense love and respect I have for you, however I do know how much you love flowers. I was looking at some old photos of my birth. One photo showed all the beautiful flowers you received. I asked the florist to create a special bouquet based on these flowers, I hope you like it.

Happy Mother's Day
