Finding Persuasive Speech IdeasLearn how to find persuasive speech ideas quickly and easily
Finding persuasive speech ideas is not that different from searching for ideas for other types of speeches: informative, demonstration etc. The big difference is that whatever topic or subject you choose is one that you are able to talk about convincingly. Do you know what being persuasive is all about? Understanding Aristotle's 3 methods of persuasion will give you some background knowledge that can assist in looking for persuasive speech ideas. You, yourself, might have some good persuasive speech topics, hidden away in your subconscious; all you need to do is tap into it. One of the easiest approaches, no don't worry I'm not going to suggest hypnosis (there you go, that is a great persuasive topic in itself) is to brainstorm. Brainstorming, is simply writing down a key idea, which will probably lead to more ideas, which you write down too, until you have a page full of different ideas, topics and subjects. Some of these may instantly stand out as too far-fetched, difficult or just ridiculous but don't stop your creativity and start to cross out ideas just yet, just keep writing. Once you can't think of anymore you can start looking elsewhere. Think about your audience. Have you done some audience analysis? Do you know their interests, their likes, what they have in common? Answers to these questions can help you start another brainstorming session to think up some more topics. What interests you? Trying to convince people around to your thinking and beliefs can be one of the hardest types of presentation. However if you are talking on a subject that interests you, you already have a head start. Body language and non-verbal communication says a lot about what you are really thinking. Even if you are not an expert on the subject, your passion and interest can be contagious. Likewise so can any negativity. So try to find good persuasive speech topics that you really do believe in. Brainstorm ideas based around your interest and likes. However unless you are a real expert on a subject, don't rely solely on your knowledge for your content of your talk. Do some research, think about any visual aids that might help, and make sure you end up with a topic that you convince your audience about not inform.
