Persuasive Speech Methods- do you know the 3?

Did you know there are 3 ways to persuade?

Aristotle (384 BC – 322 BC) was a Greek philosopher who wrote on many subjects and has influenced many of today's western philosophies.

He identified 3 persuasion speech methods

How can knowledge of these three methods help your persuasive speech?

Have you heard of the saying ' knowing which buttons to push'. A good persuasive speaker will know what their audience's buttons are. You can find out what your audience's buttons are by doing some audience analysis.

After doing some audience analysis you should find you can group them into one of three categories.

Audience composition will vary depending on many different factors. But it is very likely that you will have at least someone from each group so knowing the best way to convince each of these three areas: Ethos, Pathos and Logos will give you a great advantage to creating a successful persuasive speech.
